BORDEN-CARLETON — A world-weary traveler has returned to the Island with unbelievable news: Moncton consists of more than Mountain Road.
Moncton, a metropolis that lies a day’s journey west of the Island, had only ever been charted along one landmark: Mountain Road.
Containing all one could ever need in a city, Mountain Road extends from the shore of the Petitcodiac River to Magnetic Hill. However, a lone traveler named Frank Gallant claims that he has seen other roads as well.

“A road that the locals call Mapleton, and one called Vaughan Harvey, and even one named Wheeler,” claims Gallant. “Each road also branches off into other roads, and even smaller roads after that.”
“I have traveled the length of Main Street, and I must say that Moncton is more than a long road with dozens of exotic fast food restaurants that are unavailable on the Island. There’s even another mall that isn’t Champlain Place!”
“I even saw a glimpse of the holiest temple for Monctonians — Costco — although I was not permitted to enter,” adds Gallant.
Unbelievable if true, but travellers heading to Moncton in the near future may have more to see than expected.
When asked, Gallant added that he would be returning to further explore the wilds of Moncton, however he would need “A sailing vessel with a crew of 25 able-bodied men, food for a fortnight, and directions to a place called Angie’s.”
