THE AREA FORMERLY KNOWN AS CAVENDISH — With the passing of the Labour Day weekend, the entire town of Cavendish has been packed up and returned to storage until next summer.
“It’s always a bit of a hassle,” says Mark Diamond, the head of the packing and storage committee in Cavendish. “We need to shake all the earwigs out and seal ‘er up right tight.”
Motorists are requested to stay out of the entire North Shore area for the next few days while the remaining rubbermaid tubs are stashed away.
All three permanent, year-round residents of Cavendish are required to take turns scaring away the waves of rats and mice that would chew through the stored summer gear.
