‘Brang,’ ‘Youse,’ and ‘Sayin’ not considered valid guesses
CHARLOTTETOWN — Dozens of Islanders have threatened to boycott the popular daily word-guessing game Wordle over the recent exclusion of words that every Islander — and by extension, English-speaking human — uses daily.
Don Robinson, a spokesman for the group, explains that it is simple discrimination. “Look, I have a 45-day streak, and an overall 98% solve rate,” says Robinson. “But I just don’t understand how ‘warsh’ isn’t a valid guess.”
When reached for comment, Myrtle Perdle, head of Wordle, commented that “[W]e can’t just let any ol’ word be acceptable. That just ain’t right. No one uses ‘brang’ that I ever heard of.”
Robinson states that although he will continue playing the addicting, once-daily game, he will no longer share his scores on Facebook as a form of passive resistance.
“Listen, youse folks from away main’t think it’s a big deal, but at this point, if you’re sayin’ brang isn’t a word, y’maysel just give up (sic).”
