Stratford to reveal new town slogan

“You’ll Get Used To It!”

DOWNTOWN STRATFORD — After a marathon four-day emergency meeting of Stratford’s ruling council, a new town slogan has been formally announced.

“We believe that these carefully-chosen words express the exact feeling of living in Stratford, the Island’s fastest-growing almost-a-town-but-not-quite,” the official press release stated. “We are pleased to begin rolling out this change over the coming weeks.”

“Whether it be the lingering stench of our open sewage lagoon, our frantic building-without-a-clear-plan pace, or our walking trails, Stratford is definitely a place where ‘You’ll Get Used To It.’”

“Stratford — You’ll Get Used To It.”

As noted in transcripts from the highly-volatile meeting, this new slogan represents the experience of living in Stratford and it’s minor inconveniences, such as occasional traffic jams on the bridge, long lines at the three drive-through restaurants, and overall malaise of being close to, but not quite, Charlottetown.

Hastily-photoshopped and hand-painted signs will begin appearing overnight as the change goes into effect at midnight.

This change replaces the previous slogans of “Ehhh, close enough,” and “Not quite Charlottetown, not quite Pownal, but sure isn’t Montague.”
