UNDISCLOSED LOCATION, QUEEN’S COUNTY — A local husband is really, really hoping his wife was expecting a Lego set for Valentine’s Day this year.
“I mean, she likes flowers. Flowers are a given [for Valentine’s Day],” says the husband who will not be named to protect his anonymity. “Getting her a set of Lego flowers is really, like, giving her permanent, artificial flowers that she never has to water— right?”
“But she has to put them together, I guess. So that’s something.”
Although not known for her interest in building, owning, collecting or displaying Lego, the anonymous wife had shown some interest in her husband’s hobby.
“Look, it’s already too late to order anything else and get it here on time. I don’t want to be one of those sad sacks lining up at the grocery store buying whatever flowers are left,” says the husband. “It can’t be worse than the year I gave her Ikea shelves. That was a mistake.”
The husband was last seen trying to order one of those heart-shaped pizzas he saw on the internet a week ago.
