TRAVELLERS REST — Local father Gus Arsenault is breaking new culinary ground, and isn’t afraid to show it.
“We had chicken last night, and pasta the night before. There was some vegetables in there from a while ago, and half [of] a can of tuna that still smells good,” Arsenault exclaimed.
“What I’m doing here is cutting-edge. I’m making the worst meal ever made — but out of leftovers.”
Arsenault’s children were less than enthused.
“I didn’t like [the chicken] last night. I don’t think I’ll like it tonight, especially when he adds broccoli and ketchup,” says Cindy Arsenault, 12. “I guess I’ll try it though.”
Arsenault’s older son Troy, 16, agrees. “I don’t know why he thinks he can just combine everything in the fridge with mayonnaise and frozen peas and call it supper.”
“Listen, this isn’t for everyone,” explains Gus. “If they even just pick at it, I’ll be happy. I mean, they like all the individual ingredients. I’m just making it easier,” said Arsenault as he microwaved scrambled eggs.
At press time, Troy and Cindy were seen ordering pizza on their phones, and Gus was bragging to his wife about the number of Tupperware containers he emptied.
