PEI Senators stocking hat pulled out of retirement to be #1 starter as current toque remains in laundry

CRAPAUD — A storied veteran with over 30 years experience has been called into service in an emergency, day-to-day basis as the number one starter toque has been placed on the 14-day Laundry Reserve list.

“The [bright red PEI Senators toque that was given out as a promotion at home games during the AHL team’s 1995-1996 season] still has a lot to offer a team in a bind,” noted area man Steve Glimmerman.

“We fully expect our starter to bounce back soon, and as long as we get through a few tough weeks of towels and bedsheets we should be fine.”

The Glimmerman organization is not known for its depth in this position. Beyond the 36-year-old PEI Senators toque, the next best option is a non-descript grey beanie that was claimed off emergency waivers via the lost and found box at work.

When asked what other developments the future may hold, Glimmerman vehemently denied any chance of holding open tryouts for a replacement, saying that he fully believes in his starting hat and does not want to go through a lengthy wardrobe rebuilding process.
