STRATFORD — Despite slashing winds, blowing snow, and a solid amount of ice on the roads, Island fathers agree that it is not too late to get ahead of the storm if you get out right now.
“Plows are still on the road,” say all Island patriarchs. “If you need to get anywhere, now is the time.”
“Don’t leave it to the last minute,” they added in unison.
Fathers did disagree on whether or not it was time to start shovelling the driveway in the midst of the winter storm, or if it would be best to let the winds die down and shovel afterwards.
“As long as I can get down to the COOP tomorrow, that’s the main thing. So let’s get cracking on that first thing in the morning.”
Weather forecasters are currently predicting that the current storm will continue for the next several days, if not weeks, burying the island under several hundred meters of ice and snow until mid-July.
